Patsy VanHook

PRESENT MINISTRY

Patsy has ministered in France since 1974. The greater part of her time is dedicated to the ministry of a Christian bookstore in the Nantes region. The bookstore offers her many opportunities to share Christ with unbelievers, as well as supplying Christians with tools for spiritual growth and witness.

CONVERSION

Patsy was brought up in church and was under conviction for several years before being saved. She accepted Christ at the age of 11 in a revival in Rogers, Ark.

EARLY MINISTRY

Patsy graduated "magna cum laude" from Free Will Baptist Bible College in 1970 and was a member of the Delta Chi honor society. Following graduation, she taught in the Pensacola, Fla., Christian school from 1970 to 1972. In 1992 she was awarded an MA degree in TEFL/Intercultural Studies from Columbia International University.

Prior to missionary appointment, Patsy spent three summers in France working in tract distribution, colportage, etc. She was appointed in December 1972 and departed for the field in March of 1974.

During her first term of missionary service, Patsy was involved in child evangelism and played a supportive role teaching and visiting on behalf of the church in Rennes, France. Her succeeding terms of service (1978-1996) were spent in St. Nazaire, working with Jerry and Barbara Gibbs and former missionaries Tom and Patty McCullough.

Patsy transitioned to ministry in St. Sebastien in 1997. She was involved in Bible studies for women, children’s ministry and visitation ministries.
