In Revelation 7:9-10 we see an amazing glimpse of heaven. “After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could count, from every nation and all tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, and palm branches were in their hands; and they cry out with a loud voice saying, ‘Salvation to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb’”.
At First Church, we believe life is a long-term mission and every day is a short-term mission trip opportunity. God's Word makes it clear that it's our job to share the love of Christ with people we see every day - whether you're in Russellville, Arkansas or half-way across the world.
Becoming external starts with your places of interaction and influence (family, neighbors, coworkers) and continues by serving those in our neighboring communities and throughout the world.
We want to help you find ways to share the love of Christ with people in your sphere of influence and those outside you circle of comfort.
You may say, 'what difference can I make in the world?' Well....
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. —Acts 1:8
We can make little difference on our own, however, the Holy Spirit working through our availability can change lives around the world.
We are called to share the love of God with our city, nation, and to the ends of the earth. Our challenge is to consider God's great commission. He has called us to be a part of the answer to problems in our world. Our goal is that you would engage in mission for the Kingdom of God by doing three things:
GIVE
From a orphanage in Tajikistan, to a church plant in France, to a Seminary in Panama, to those teaching the illiterate to read the Word in Bolivia, we are supporting God's Kingdom around the world. First Church financially supports approximately 25 missions and/or missionaries and gave close to $150,000 last year to missions. Partner with us and give towards these efforts.
GO
We take teams across the globe to physically encourage our missionary families and the work they are doing. Sometimes we take medical trips, humanitarian trips, vision trips, Creative Access trips, and Project trips. We have found many of our families have been changed through going on a mission trip.
PRAY
We believe we can go around the world through prayer. We are faithful to petition the Lord on behalf of our missionary families. We also try to develop a passion for the people to whom our missionaries have been sent. We not only want to be a missionary church, but a Mission Minded Church. Consider joining with us in praying for our missions partners.
